How to find the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • To get the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean view deck, steps from the beach, 2 king beds, easily accommodates four has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your contract.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
