Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beachside Breeze Condo w\/pool and private beach access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
