Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful & Cozy-2nd Row-4 Bedroom\/2 Bath-Ocean View Home-Sleeps 8 has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
