How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Blue Heron: Home with Pool, Elevator, Close to Beach has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
