Tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefectvacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. PRIVATE BEACH HOUSE, POOL, HOT-TUB, ELEVATOR, PARKING, BOAT DOCK, CANAL VIEWS has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
