Our top Wilmington vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bradley Creek Scenic View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
