Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. BRAND NEW Canal Front Home on Beach Access road - Pool & Elevator! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
