Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Front-7BR\/6.5BA Home-Elevated Pool-Elevator-Dog Friendly-Sleeps 26 has 8 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
