Located on a private road at the secluded northern end of Wrightsville Beach, “Del Ray” is a 7-bedroom 6-bathroom family home has a cavernous covered deck constructed for relaxation! The unique staggered tons on the north end of the island offer an nearly ocean front feel and open vistas of the ocean despite being 3 homes back from the beach. There is a pathway leading from the rear of the home to the ocean and the lack of on street parking on Sand Dollar Lane gives this home a more residential and secluded ambiance.

As you enter “Del Ray” you are greeted by a marvelous open living space that is really the heart of this pretty home. A huge sectional couch provides a marvelous space for the family to gather. Whether you are cooking, dining, or calming on the couch this roomy room is the ideal place to congregate with adored ones and create cherished memories! Two dining tables boarder the kitchen and there is additional seating at the kitchen island. After dinner, grab a cold drink and soak up the salt air on the many sprawling deck as the waves crash in the background.

The main living level of this elegant home provides five bedrooms, a spacious living area, and multiple entrances to the broad deck. To the right of the great room is a hall that leads to three of the main floor guest rooms. The first guest room has two comfortable queen-sized beds and is serviced by the adjacent full bathroom located just across the hall. The next guest room is furnished with a queen-sized bed and faces the ocean. A ideal accommodation for adults, this guest room has direct access to the deck. A king guest room is next door and provides a private bathroom, sizable TV, and access to a private nook on the deck that connects with the main deck. Guests of this room will appreciate the privacy and convenience!

Behind the kitchen are the two additional main floor bedrooms and the stairwell that leads to the top floor. The first guest room has a queen bed and a twin sized day bed – making this room great for young families or junior travelers in the family! Nearby is another queen guest room with private bathroom, laundry area, and exterior door that leads to the deck.

The top floor of this huge home has two bedrooms that offer excellent vistas. A guest room with two queen sized beds and private bathroom overlook the close by ocean. The next-door king guest room provides privacy and cozy accommodations after a long day in the sun. “Del Ray” is a rare find on Wrightsville Beach. Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefect Cape Fear area rental:

  • First, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Secluded 7BR home with EV charger and ocean views! has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
