Tips and Tricks to get the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Book your Cape Fear area rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 4 BR\/3.5 BA HOME-Beautifully Decorated-Sleeps 9 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
