Our top Cape Fear area vacation rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Peach Pit: Dog-friendly with Game Room and Fenced Yard has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area beach you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
