Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Finding the best rental in Holden Beach:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Fish N' Scales \/ 115 Seaside Dr ~ Private Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
