Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming 2-bedroom in Carolina Beach walking distance to beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
