Find your perfect rental:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.

  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.

  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
