Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Cozy condo with ocean view, private beach access, 3 pools and tennis courts has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
