Kick back and relax in our little slice of heaven, just moments away from East Beach. Tucked inside the shade of the enchanting Maritime Forest, our bungalow is the ideal hideaway for families and beach lovers needing to let loose, breath deep and have fun! Catch a cool ocean breeze from one of our two comfortable screened in porches, ideal for a peaceful cup of coffee, great conversation or board game. Get anywhere on the island quickly in one of our 4-person golf carts. Two come with your stay.

Our bungalow is in Surfman's Walk, mins. from East Beach -- an 8 min. walk or a 1 min. cart ride. The Surfman's Walk community is surrounded in boardwalk paths that meander through the Maritime Forest. It's a wonderfully calming walk.

Please note that from June to Labor Day, check-in/check-out is on Friday. If you have questions, feel complimentary to message us.

Quality time is the best part of BHI, so we equipped our bungalow with tons of extras. Two 4-person golf carts, intelligent TVs in all bedrooms, gas grille, Nintendo Wii for dance events on rainy days, bluetooth speakers throughout the home, record player and record collection, games, kid toys, sand toys, beach chairs, fishings rods, body boards, sun shades, and more. Use our bicycles too! We have an adult bicycle with a infant seat, 3 kid bicycles (ideal for a 7-10 year old), 1 kid bicycle (for a 11+ year old). And of course, highchair and pack 'n play.

There are two bedrooms in the main home and one over the detached garage. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. So it's a ideal set up for a big group of friends, two families plus the grandparents, or one big family.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more - water filter on the kitchen tap, toaster oven, air fryer, Vitamix, Heritage Grille, Instapot, Cuisinart ice cream maker, quality kitchen knives, and plenty of cooking tools.

TV's in all bedrooms. Noise machines in all bedrooms too.

Guests have the option to purchase a guest pass to the BHI Club or Shoals Club, which has many extraordinary amenities -- golf, pools, playgrounds, and eateries. It's a must for a family beach vacation!

Tips for getting the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer is high season in Bald Head Island. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking a perfect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Kick back and relax in our little slice of heaven, just moments away from East Beach has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
