About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Carolina Beach and Caswell Beach, while Smith Island Museum of History and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are cultural highlights. When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.

  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
