Strategies to get the very best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your group agree to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dizzy Miss Lizzy is a family and pet-friendly house near public beach access! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
