Located by the sea, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Oak Island Lighthouse and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Oak Island Golf Club and The Clubs at St. James. Get the most from your budget:

• Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
• Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
• Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
• Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

• Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
• Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.

If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise.
