About this Property

  • Sleeps 8
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 3 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2000 square feet

Modern amenities abound in this inviting home within Wilmington's exceptional historic district!

Thoughtfully designed to entertain.

Substantial, shady backyard, and just 1-3 blocks away from some of the best eateries, antique stores, wine bar, and yoga studio in the city.

Just 8 blocks (about a 15 min. walk) to the Riverwalk!

Savor the huge backyard calming about under the towering oak trees in Adirondack chairs. Close to all the best Wilmington offers.

The space
Entire experience is designed to make working from home a breeze.

The cavernous primary bedroom suite features a king bed with a plush pillowtop bed, walk-in shower, and a desk so folks can work and take calls/meetings in private.

The front bedroom has a queen bed with a plush pillowtop as well.

The third bedroom features two twin beds with memory foam beds.

The home works really well for six people, but we do allow up to 8 people to stay, with the understanding that the people beyond six guests will have to sleep on twin air beds. We have two twin air beds, with linens, that are available for guests to use. The air beds include a self-contained air pump, so no worries about blowing them up. However, guests must request the air beds be available and the guests will be responsible for inflating the air beds and making the beds.

Fast internet is powered by AT&T fiber, with speed up to 1 GB per second.

The refrigerator does not have a water dispenser or ice maker. We have a Brita water pitcher inside the refrigerator and ice cube trays.

Off-street parking is available, but on-street parking is rarely an issue, since St. Luke's Church takes up the block across the street. Off-street parking shared between guests staying in the main home and guests staying in the bungalow.

The serene backyard is sizable for a downtown home and is shaded by towering oaks throughout most of the day. The backyard is shared with guests who may be staying in the bungalow behind the main home.

Robert Strange Park, the biggest park in downtown Wilmington, is a half-block away, with a public swimming pool, one baseball and 2 softball fields, basketball courts, in addition to 6 tennis/pickleball courts.

A big backyard awaits, outstanding for an intimate gathering of family and friends.

Unused electrical outlets have covers and we are focused on making the home "kid friendly" as possible. However, we cannot assure the home is "kid proof", and guests accept full responsibility for any accidents/injuries.

We have a Graco Pack N Play Rock N Grow Playard available. It's one of the best pack n plays available and retails for about $300. Just let us know if you need it during your stay, and we will make it available.

Sizable Roku TVs available in living room and primary bedroom suite.

Plenty of off-street parking available (3 spaces), with complimentary parking on the street. Off-street parking is shared with guests who may be staying in the bungalow behind the main home.

Distances:
Wrightsville Beach - 20-min. drive
Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center - 2.6 miles

Guest access
You will savor sole access to the whole 2,000 square foot home, bespoke shower in primary bedroom suite.

Access to front door of home controlled by Schlage Encode lock, which assigns a specific pin for the duration of your stay (no keys!).

The fenced-in backyard is shared with the guests of a modest bungalow/ADU in the rear of the home.

Other things to note
We want to share our home with people who respect others.

Not kid friendly.

We have a strict no event rule. This is out of respect for the home and for our neighbors.

If noise levels, or other behaviors, force neighbors to contact the police, and if the police validate a nuisance/illegal activity has occurred, guests may be subject to a $500 penalty, to be assessed at the sole discretion of the host.

How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Downtown Luxury: King Suite - Riverwalk\/Castle St! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
