Our top Ocean Isle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:

  • Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. East End OIB- Newly built, New Pool, New Memories! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
