[What does “BIS BALD!” mean? “Bis Bald!” is German for “See You Soon!” We've lived in both Austria and Germany, so it made sense to choose a name that means something to us while incorporating part of the island’s identity.]

Welcome to BIS BALD!, a gorgeous coastal getaway located on the photogenic Bald Head Island, NC. This opulent oceanfront property offers the epitome of island living, combining impressive vistas, modern amenities, and a serene ambiance.

Walk in to an open and airy floor plan on the main level, with seamlessly integrated kitchen, dining area, and living room. This roomy area features broad windows that frame expansive vistas of the high dunes and shining Atlantic Ocean, filling the home with natural light and ocean breezes. Unwind in style in the comfortable seating area, ideal for entertaining guests or appreciating peaceful evenings with your adored ones.

The gourmet kitchen is a chef's dream, boasting high-end appliances, bespoke cabinetry, and a enormous peninsula with bar seating. Whether you're preparing a casual meal or hosting a formal dinner event, this completely outfitted haven offers everything you need to create culinary delights.

Step outside onto the expansive deck, where you'll find multiple seating areas, a dining space, and a semi-private walkway leading directly to the pristine South Beach. With ideal vistas of the awe-inspiring sunsets, there’s no better place to sip a beverage and appreciate nature at its best.

With four bedrooms and four en suite full bathrooms, there is plenty of space and privacy for everybody! A sizable bedroom on the main level offers a convenient respite, complete with a queen-sized bed, huge bathroom, and access to the screened porch outside. Upstairs, the primary suite is a relaxing getaway, featuring a king-sized bed and striking ocean vistas from the balcony. Pamper yourself in the extravagant bathroom, complete with dual sinks and a cavernous walk-in shower. Another upstairs bedroom presents two full-sized beds and a bright bathroom with skylights. The fourth bedroom – located in the “crofter” with its own separate entrance – offers supreme privacy with a king-sized bed, spa-like bathroom, and dedicated heating and cooling system. All four bedrooms have TVs and plenty of closet space.

BIS BALD also provides a range of amenities for residents to savor, including access to BHI’s championship golf course, tennis courts, pools, and eateries. Explore the island's natural beauty, embark on outdoor adventures, or simply relax and rejuvenate in this idyllic coastal heaven.

Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Bald Head Island. Book your Cape Fear area rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Welcome to BIS BALD!, your Oceanfront Escape on BHI! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
