Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Inviting Oceanfront 3BR Condo in WrightsvilleDunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area destination you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
