Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • To book the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Fabulous Ocean, Marsh & ICW Views! 5 Bedroom, 5.5 Bath, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
