Strategies to get the best Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Fabulous Ocean, Marsh & ICW Views! 5 Bedroom, 5.5 Bath, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
