Tricks and tips to get the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Facing the Beach\/Boardwalk Top Floor Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
