Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the right Cape Fear area rental:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Gorgeous 4 Bedroom Home In Cape Fear Station has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
