Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Start by having your group choose dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Gorgeous Ocean Front Home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
