Booking the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the best rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Grammy's House - Oceanfront with Ramps - Handicap Accessible! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
