Our top Cape Fear area rental home booking tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Grammy's House - Oceanfront with Ramps - Handicap Accessible! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area beach you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
