Booking the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Incredible Views! Spacious 4br\/4.5ba waterfront home including private dock! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
