Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Island Beach Home 2 MINS WALK to The Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
