Tricks and tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Island Knights Less Than a Block From The Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
