Tips for getting the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Lumina Cottage- 6 bedrooms-kid & dog friendly! has 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
