Our top Holden Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Magnolia Cottage - Beachfront Home with Unobstructed Ocean Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
