Tricks and tips to get the best Carolina Beach rental experience:
When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 0711 Turtle Haven by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
