Tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. NEW LISTING! OCEANFRONT w\/ pool, close to boardwalk, amazing views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
