Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Sea Forever (2-Bedroom Villa) by RedAwning has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
