Booking the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Holden Beach. Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Waterfront Home w\/ Decks, Privacy & Boat Slip has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
