Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. NEWLY Renovated House in the Heart of OKI has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
