Our top Rental property booking tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking the perfect Cape Fear area rental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Accommodations for up to 20 with Pool! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
