Tricks and tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • To find the largest rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. ??Oceanfront condo 2BR direct beach access + pool ?? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
