Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. NEW! Completely Renovated, OCEANFRONT Bungalow, right on the boardwalk! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
