Octopus’s Garden is an refreshed three-floor duplex with 5 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths and an elevator. Two of the bedrooms are direct ocean front, but the other rooms all have ocean vistas through the 20 plus windows! Guests have a view all the way down Carolina Beach and can comfortably see Wrightsville from the oceanfront decks. The home has been elegantly decorated with fabulous and unique octopus’ décor throughout.
The owners take absolute pride in updating and maintaining the home. Over the last few years, the kitchen and baths were updated, high-end beds were purchased for all bedrooms, all beds and bedspreads were replaced, and carpets were replaced with wood floors. Our outdoor space was also upgraded by adding a handsome hand-designed outdoor Octopus’s Garden bar and shell garden. For 2024, we replaced the dishwasher and couches and continued to update the artwork. We also added a new table for more books, games and puzzles and continued to completely stock the pantry with outdoor plates, bowls, cups, wine glasses and kids cups. If you’ve stayed at Octopus’s Garden in the past, hopefully you’ve adored the yearly updates. If you’ve never stayed at Octopus’s Garden, you are in for a treat! Now onto the home description!
The first floor has three roomy bedrooms – one oceanfront king room with a slider out to the deck, the second king with ocean vistas and the third with a unique queen over queen bunkbed. There is a enormous bathroom and laundry closet with a Samsung washer/dryer.

The second floor is open and cavernous to allow for huge family gatherings. It has striking vistas from the many side windows and the double sliders which lead to a huge deck. The living area has two couches and a coffee table as well as a decorative fireplace. The sizable, updated kitchen (including a drink refrigerator that holds 140 cans!) is entirely equipped with plates, bowls, glasses, pasta bowls, serving platters, mixing bowls, baking pans, a blender, toaster, BBQ kit, Cuisinart coffee center, crockpot, and a buffet warming tray. The two kitchen islands comfortably seat 6 people and the dining room table seats 8.

The third floor has two master suites with king beds and oceanfront/vistas. The oceanfront bedroom has sliders out to the deck with two chairs and a chaise lounge and an attached bathroom with a hottub tub and a sizable window facing the ocean! The other master has fantastic vistas of the ocean as well as west-facing vistas of Carolina Beach, offering impressive sunset colors. The bathroom has been completely remodeled with subway tiles, a tile floor and vanity
If you need more outdoor space beyond the large decks, then the covered bar/grilling area is waiting for you! Appreciate some beverages at the hand-designed Octopus’s Garden bar with outdoor lighting or hang out on the brick patio with Adirondack chairs and a gas barbeque. There is also a toy chest filled with kids’ buckets and shovels, an outside shower, and direct beach access from the private walkway. The unit also includes beach chairs and towels for 12 as well as coolers and bocce! Up-to-four cars can be accommodated

Once you park your car, you can leave it there as the duplex sits on a one-way street that is more like a pedestrian walkway, and convenient to nearly anything in town! It's an simple walk to the Carolina Beach boardwalk to the North and the Tiki Bar to the South, as well as Carolina Beach Lake, the Greenway, Veggie Wagon, Britts Donuts, eateries, and bars, including locals’ and tourists’ favorite, the Fat Pelican, voted one of the top 25 dive bars in the country!

If you've never been to Carolina Beach before you're in for a treat. We're a amazing family friendly beach town with pizza stores, ice cream stores, seafood eateries, and three grocery stores. You'll never have to (or want to) leave the island!

You’ll like to be in an Octopus’s Garden!

How to get the best Carolina Beach rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront updated 5 bedroom duplex with elevator and private beach access. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
