Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing the best Cape Fear area rental:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. OW 9201 - Beautiful 3 Bdrm\/2.5 Bath Condo w\/ Pool, Elevator, & Beach - Sleeps 6 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
