About this Property

Welcome to the Twin Tides Intercostal Cottage. One of two of our unique side-by-side properties on the ICWW with a private pier and dock- with a slip available to our avid boaters (upon request and review assuming un-rented and for an additional fee).

We remodeled this home with our own family of 6 in mind. Very family friendly and family aligned.

When we modernized, we had no intention to rent the home so we put all we had into it, making it ideal for our enormous family. Our kitchen features all Subzero and Wolf appliances- a true home chefs dream. The kitchen features concrete countertops- which are great but please be cautious and don't leave liquids long enough to sink in!

On the main level there is a master bedroom, with painless access off the kitchen and private access to the bathroom. Great for parents wanting a separate space from their kiddos, or a outstanding spot for in-law/grandparents.

Upstairs we have three additional bedrooms and a loft/flex space.

Currently, the loft is used with kids in mind. We have crafts and a table for kids to be creative for any afternoon storm time.

There is a bedroom specifically keeping the kids in mind. It features 2 twin beds.

The second bedroom upstairs features a king size bed and shares a bathroom with the kids bedroom.

There is also a master upstairs! This room is too ideal for parents. It features a king size bed, and the attached private bathroom spared no expense for us. It's got handmade tile in the bathroom, concrete countertops featuring shells from the intracoastal and granite floor. It also has a massive tub for your enjoyment. The master also has its own private balcony, which is hands down the best spot to watch dolphins and the sunrise.

Our location is unique, we're located right across from a protected island. So the vistas will always be unspoiled from development. We're also down a long gravel driveway giving you plenty of privacy. We are also on a peninsula, accepting not only intracoastal and ocean vistas, but marsh vistas on the backside. One of my favorite things about this property is the marsh. The marsh is so alive, and something right out of a novel.

We have a huge lot- esp for the beach! Please use the playground, pier, and property at your own discretion. The yard is ideal for our fur kids to also get some off leash exercise, please just make sure our pet friends stay in our yard- while it's very private, we do have neighbors that share that long dirt road we live down.

For the pier, the boat slips are available for an additional fee upon prior approval and assuming the slips aren't already rented. Feel complimentary to fish or clam or crab! There is a sand bar that peaks it's head at low tide, it is a MUST to go discover the sandbar. Let the kids catch a hermit crab or go clamming to get a real feel for the coastal lifestyle. Feel complimentary to grab a kayak or paddle board if available. We have multiple but guests tend to not exactly "care" for these items so it's dwindling each year we rent. But, you're always more than welcome to bring whatever gear you may need to appreciate the water.

We also feature an outdoor bathroom and a separate outdoor shower. If you've got kids, you've heard the bathroom pleas as soon as you get located. The outdoor bath makes it easier than taking soaking wet little ones all the way in the home! The shower is enchanting to wash all that sand off prior to going inside too, and obviously something us owners adore for guests to use!

This home is at the end of nearly a mile long dirt driveway, it's a very private escape! If seclusion isn't your thing, or you like city lights, this listing isn't for you!

We're always updating furnishings and my toxic trait is never being done with renovations, so expect some updates from current photos!

Looking for a family reunion? Book our Ocean Tides private home also. Vistas of the Atlantic Ocean can be seen from our newly refreshed property right next door!

Minutes away from Carolina Beach, the NC Fort Fisher Aquarium, the NC Battleship, golf courses or downtown Wilmington. This home spared no expense to really make it a getaway to visit time and time again. You will appreciate this coastal bungalow that looks like it came out of a novel. We only rent enough to be able to hang on to the property and savor it ourselves! We hope you appreciate our home as much as ours. In a ideal world our guests would be yearly repeat visitors!

Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Wilmington rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Twin Tides Intracoastal waterway cottage w\/views of the ocean private dock &more has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
