Finding the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • First, have your group decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Pokie Puffer-Salty Carolina Vibes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
