Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the best vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Poolside Paradise-4BR\/4.5BA, Private Pool, Ocean Views & Luxury! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
