Are you looking to coast back to simpler times? “Reel Simple” is a beachfront Wrightsville Beach bungalow listed on the Historic Registry! Featuring impressive ocean vistas from porches that span both floors and plenty of space for the entire family, this is the prefect home for folks who appreciate a traditional family beach vacation.

The outdoor space that the bungalow offers is really a rare find. Two sizable porches wrap around the exterior of the property and are lined with rocking chairs, comfortable loungers, and give countless vistas of the striking Atlantic Ocean. Several screen doors line the porches and allow for gorgeous cross breezes on warm summer evenings with the waves crashing in the background. There is a enormous shaded screened-in dining area off the kitchen which makes a ideal spot for gathering!

Guests of this beautiful bungalow will be welcomed into the home by way of a lush tropical garden that passes by a modest neighboring bungalow. An exterior staircase leads you to the porch and the main door to the home is accessed through the screened porch. As you enter the home and walk into the kitchen, you are instantly met with tons of appeal and gentle nods to the history of this extraordinary family home. The kitchen features pretty wooden walls that carry through the ceiling and while it is upfitted with modern amenities, it holds true to the age and simplistic feel of this classic beach bungalow.

To the left of the kitchen is a huge laundry room that leads to a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. There are two twin beds in the laundry room that are not included in the occupancy of the home and are not intended for guest use. Passing through the kitchen again, you will arrive in the dining room which is furnished with a sizable kitchen table and an antique buffet that homes games, puzzles, and books. The wonderfully aged wood floors compliment the historic photos that tell the story of this home which has been appreciated by many generations. The comfortable master bedroom is accessed off the dining room and provides a full-size bed, neat half bathroom, and has two windows that let in natural light.

Through the dining room is the cavernous family room that offers a sitting area, comfortably furnished living room with TV, and features original glass paned French doors that lead to the first-floor ocean front deck. Take a second to stop and admire the antique wall décor and historical memorabilia as you ascend the stairs. The top floor bathroom has a huge claw foot tub and services the four close by bedrooms. An oceanfront guest room with two twin beds, a queen bed, vanity table, an TV makes a great accommodation for guests of all ages with two large windows that overlook the ocean and a convenient door that gives access to the top floor deck. The second guest room is furnished with two twin beds is a great place for kids as there is no exterior egress. Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Charming Beachfront Cottage on Historic Registry has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
