Bald Head Island vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Sandy Bottoms - Beautiful Ibis Roost home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
