How to find the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer is high season in Holden Beach. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in Holden Beach:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sandy Bottoms: Classic Beach Home Newly Remodeled! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
