Strategies to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. My Golden Jewel - Bright and beachy 1 bedroom ocean front condo with pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
